Let’s kick things off with the most important matchup of the week – a bubbling cauldron of tension between our illustrious 10th-seeded Mike Griffin’s Mean Machine and Cameron Fitts’ high-flying Game Of Throws. Holding a halftime lead, Hall quickly watched his team deflate with a final score of 134.16 to Ryne’s impressive 159.78. This means a whole lot of nothing for Hall but something like a night of this sexy victory for Ryne, who right now resembles a high school quarterback on prom night – full of confidence and glory. If he doesn’t screw it up, it looks like he might just ride this wave to a first-round bye.
Now, let’s talk about Kyler Floyd’s Sunday Cook Out and Braden Conner’s killer team, The Dark Knight. This matchup ended up being a lose-lose despite Kyler putting up a respectable 156.10 against the 171.18 juggernaut that is the Dark Knight. Braden’s roster looked sharper than a butcher’s cleaver, and with this victory, he’s either going to hoist the trophy or be feeding it to some middle-schoolers at this rate. For Kyler, sitting at 0-1 must feel like a Sunday morning hangover after having too many Fireball shots the night before. Revival isn’t impossible, but if this keeps up, he might finish in the shiny trophy-less consolation bracket with the rest of the losers.
Rounding out our highlights of the week, we turn to Austin Young’s Team Young, who manhandled Brandon Horne’s King in the North 126.16 to 112.58. A success for Austin, but with the likes of Hall and Mike floundering out there, are we sure this is truly impressive? Nah, but hey, winning by beating a bad team is still a win, so let’s give him the benefit of the doubt—at least for now.
